Contract bridge, or simply bridge, is a trick-taking card game using a standard 52-card deck. In its basic format, it is played by four players in two competing partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other around a table.
Bridge boosts the immune system through stimulation of the dorsolateral cortex, the part of the brain responsible for cognitive processing and keeping mind alert. Playing bridge activates both hemispheres of the brain and stimulates logical thinking, inferential analysis, problem solving skills, sequencing, visualization, lateral thinking, long and short-term memory, observation and psychology. Bridge thus staves off degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.
At Natureville, Bridge is taught by Mr Girish Bijoor, National Master, Bridge Federation of India; ACBL’s accredited Teacher, Club Director and Member, ABTA.
